Today, in Beregovo district, near the state border, border guards together with police officers detained two men who were illegally hunting near the border.
While patroling, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment heard shots. The border guards immediately went to the scene of possible offense. 300 meters from the border, the border guards found a car Renault and two people with weapons. Ignoring legitimate orders of the border guards, the offenders tried to flee.
Both men were detained, they were citizens of Ukraine, residents of Ivano-Frankivsk region. During the surface inspection of the detainees’ car, the border guards also found ammunition and an object similar to an optical sight.
Representatives of the police were called to the scene. After a joint inspection, law enforcement officers found a rifle MKM-072, an airgun, two optical sights, a device similar to a silencer, and also ammunition for various types of weapons. The men explained to law enforcers that they intended to hunt for wild beasts.
At the moment, the offense is being recorded. The further fate of the poachers will be decided by the court.
