Irreversible natural disasters are taking place right in front of us. The Uzh river, which back in the twentieth century was deep enough to sail boats, now resembles a shallow stream that can be easily crossed on foot. In many villages of Transcarpathia, in the summer there is not enough water in the wells. The rapid dewatering of the Carpathians is becoming a menacing challenge for all residents.
On this occasion, the head of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese Bishop Milan initiates a public discussion.
On Wednesday, October 24, at 15:00, in the episcopal residence, there will be a presentation of the documentary film by Stefan Valo about the causes of dewatering of the Carpathians. The activist from Perechyn has been investigating this problem for many years and proposes ways to solve it.
Oleksandr Bokotey, the Director of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies, Ph.D., will also tell about the activities of the Commission on Ecology at the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese.
All interested persons are invited to the meeting.
