In Transcarpathia, 153 yards, 90 basements and about 500 hectares of farmland remain flooded. This was reported by the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
The flood situation in Transcarpathia is improving. The water level in the Uzh basin has decreased markedly, and in the lower reaches of the Borzhava (Irshava and Vynogradiv districts) it begins to drop.
– It’s too early to talk about the end of the flood, but we hope that there will be no new floodings, – Yaroslav Halas, the head of the RSA, said. – In low reaches of the Tisa and the Latorytsia, the flood wave is approaching the Ukrainian-Hungarian border near Chop. The water level there will rise – in the Latorytsia by 3.5 – 4 meters, and in the Tisa – by up to 7 meters.
The border town of Chop and the nearby Zahony are under the threat of flooding
According to the Hungarian publication szon.hu, the water level is increasing near the Hungarian city of Zahony and the Transcarpathian city of Chop. The level of the flood risk is above the first degree.
According to the National Directorate of Water Resources of Hungary, in the event of further rise of water levels, there is a real threat of flooding in some Hungarian cities located on the banks of the Tisa river.
