In the town of Volovets, Transcarpathian region, an 11-year-old student tragically died. According to the correspondent of the "Fraza" in Transcarpathia, the boy was carried away by the current of the river, the water level in which over the recent days has risen by about 1.5 m.
According to the workers of the school, during the long break (at about 12-00), two five-grade students decided to play on the river bank. One of the boys slipped and fell into the water hitting his head.
His friend immediately rushed to help him, but he could not pull him onto the shore – the boy was carried away by a strong current.
It is reported that the rescuers were sent to search for the schoolchild. Approximately at 19-00, the boy’s was found near the village of Yablunyovo (about 3 km from Volovets).
An investigation into the death of a child has begun.
