Over the last few years, the idea of preserving forests and nature and purchasing artificial Christmas trees for the Christmas holidays has been being actively discussed in the region. As we reported, some forestries of Transcarpathian decided not to harvest Christmas trees. Instead, they will rent them out – in pots.
If you do decide to buy a felled tree, make sure the tree has a chip with number. Using a smartphone with Internet access, you can easily check whether the tree, which you are going to buy, was cut down legally. To do this, go to the section Wood Inspection on the site of the State Agency of Forest Resources. After entering the series and number from the chip, the site will show where the tree was cut down.
