Today, the investment forum "Transcarpathia – business in the center of Europe" has started in Uzhgorod
This is the largest investment event in Transcarpathian region, which is a platform for the discussion of topical issues of investment attracting and infrastructure development in the region. Major private and institutional investors, local and international businesses, NGOs, heads of central and local authorities were invited to participate in the Forum.
The event is attended by the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko, the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Zsolt Csutora, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Cornel Ionescu, the director of the border economy and infrastructure development department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Kiss-Parciu and others.
Volodymyr Chubirko welcomed the participants. He noted that investment incentives, the development of cross-border cooperation, development of the border infrastructure are some of its most important priorities. "During the current term, the Regional Council has established active partnership contacts with four new regions of neighboring European countries, and in total Transcarpathia currently has entered into agreements on inter-regional cooperation with 14 regions of the European Union countries – Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Germany, Spain and others. Next week, one more region will join them – Kaunas area of Lithuania. Delegations of Pardubice and Vysocina regions of the Czech Republic will visit Transcarpathia in order to implement a number of joint investment projects in the social sector, and to identify new ones for the next year.
One of the extremely important task of local authorities is to create an attractive investment image of Transcarpathia. After all, our region has great potential that is largely undiscovered", – the Chairman of the Regional Council stated.
After the Forum, representatives of regional authorities, including Volodymyr Chubirko and the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, had a meeting with the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Zsolt Csutora, during which they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation.
