“Visa-free” foreigners can stay in Transcarpathia for no more than 90 consecutive days

In connection with the entry into force of the order of the MIA of Ukraine "On approval of the Procedure for calculating the period of temporary stay in Ukraine for foreigners who are nationals of the countries with visa-free entry procedures", foreigners, who come to our country without visas, can stay temporarily in the territory of Ukraine for no more than 90 days within 180 days after the date of the first entry, unless otherwise determined by international agreements of Ukraine.

State Border Guard Service checks the compliance with the requirements on stay in Ukraine at checkpoints on the state border by deducting 180 days from the date of actual entry / exit, and the migration service performs such check during the stay in Ukraine (by deducting 180 days from the date of the check).

If a foreign national, who arrived in our country without a visa, is found to be violating the requirements on the duration of stay when entering Ukraine, he or she will be denied crossing the state border, and if a foreign national, who arrived in our country without a visa, is found to be violating the requirements on the duration of stay when leaving Ukraine, he or she will be brought to administrative responsibility.

According to the deputy head – the head of the division for immigration, temporary stay of foreigners and combating illegal migration of the Department for Foreigners and Stateless Persons of the Main Office of the SMS of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Vitalia Svalyavchyk, in order to extend the period of stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, foreign nationals must apply to the territorial unit of the migration service. The grounds for this service are the application for permission to immigrate; acquiring the citizenship of Ukraine; circumstances which do not allow to leave Ukraine; other cases where there is a need for extension of stay.

Since the beginning of the year, 276 foreigners have received permanent residence permits and 838 persons have received temporary residence permits in Ukraine. In total, 2,432 immigrants are registered with the migration service of Transcarpathia.
