Violator of the customs rules paid to the budget a fine of over UAH 4 million

Thanks to the professionalism of the employees of the Transcarpathian Customs, the judges of the first and appellate instances, the goods were confiscated, and the official of the Romanian company in April paid to the State Budget of Ukraine a fine of over UAH 4 million.

As it was reported earlier, at the customs post "Dyakovo", employees of the Transcarpathian Customs prevented an attempt of goods import into the customs territory of Ukraine in violation of the customs legislation by submitting documents drawn up by an official of the Romanian enterprise, containing false information about the name (assortment ), weight, quantity, marking and numbers of the goods. It was declared that raw materials – cables, electric wires on plastic coils, fittings, etc. – were imported into Ukraine.

A report of the violation of customs rules was drawn up against the officer of the Romanian company pursuant to Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under which the goods worth over UAH 4 million were temporarily seized.

Following the consideration of the case on violation of customs rules by Uzhgorod City and District Court, the officer of the Romanian enterprise was found guilty of committing the offense and penalized in accordance with the sanction of Part 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, i.e. fine in the amount of 4,231,738 UAH and the confiscation of the goods.

As the representatives of the offender did not agree with this decision, the court decision was appealed in the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region.

Following the consideration by the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region, the appeal was returned to the representative, and the decision of the court of first instance was upheld.
