Viktor Baloha to Poroshenko: the allocated funds to victims in Transcarpathia are not even alms

As we reported, Transcarpathia was affected by a disaster. Due to heavy rains and hail, the situation was classified as a natural disaster of the regional level.

UAH 1.5 million was allocated from the regional budget for emergency relief. On average, it is less than $ 10 for each affected house, excluding cars and harvest. On his own page on Facebook, MP Viktor Baloha appealed to the President:

"I am sure, you’ve seen this footage of destoyed Transcarpathian roofs like in the war zone. Thanks to God, no one was killed. But the sight is terrible. People literally were left without roofs above their heads, without crops. No one has money for repairs.

In this situation, the cynicism of the government is killiing. UAH 1.5 million was allocated from the regional budget for emergency relief. On average, it is less than $ 10 for each affected house, excluding cars and harvest. This is not help – it’s not even alms. At current prices, UAH 1.5 million will be barely enough for one street in a small village in Khust or Vynogradiv district.

I want to appeal to Petro Poroshenko.

Mr. President, I know you read this text. You must understand the problems of Transcarpathians. People are in trouble and will not cope with it on their own. You can influence the government and the governor to make them immediately allocate the funds in sufficient amount. Do at least one good thing for Transcarpathia, and people always appreciate good things."
