Viktor Baloga paid an official visit to Tokyo

The House of Representatives in Japanese Parliament approved the resolution on strengthening of friendly relations between Japan and Ukraine, including cooperation in liquidation of disasters at nuclear power stations – informs the Ministry for Emergencies press service. 

The relevant document was adopted unanimously by the Japanese deputies in the presence of the Prime Minister Yosihiko Noda and Minister of Emergencies Viktor Baloga who started his official visit to Tokyo today.  

As it is indicated in the resolution, horrible disasters at nuclear power stations which both countries have experienced and common knowledge of rapid reaction in case of a disaster and the dealing with consequences after them should  not only serve the interests of the countries but also become the international acquisition. From this viewpoint, the House of Representatives called the signing of the Agreement on cooperation in sphere of improving post-disaster reaction to emergency situations at nuclear power stations between the governments of Ukraine and Japan a milestone, which will be established on Wednesday, April 18.

As the Prime Minister of Japan Yosihiko Noda pointed out, the adoption of the current resolution has become an extremely important step in the bilateral relations and the cooperation of official Kyiv and Tokyo.

Adopted resolution is the first for the last 20 years document which the Japanese parliament approved regarding the post-Soviet countries.
