MP of Ukraine Victor Baloha sent to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko a letter asking to resume partnership with the IKEA.
"When you hear statements from the government that investors do not want to come to the country, because we have a war, you are willing to believe it. But when you know the real situation with global companies who want to work in Ukraine, even in these conditions, but can not because of corruption and bureaucracy, everything looks quite different," – he said.
He adds: "No one says that today our country is in first place in the ranking of investment attractiveness, but we still remain a large market, which foreigners want to work in. But they are not allowed".
"A specific example of the IKEA company, which for several years can not receive land for building of their store. Despite the fact that coming of IKEA means more taxes in the budget, creation of a modern woodworking industry and thousands of jobs.
This means that the country will no longer be exporting raw timber, and begin to produce finished products. Therefore I have appealed to the President because I am sure: if we continue to treat those, who want to work in Ukraine, like this, no civilized business will come to us" – the politician sums up.
