Carols, food and wine – this is a short agenda of the Vasyllya Festival, which has started in Uzhgorod.
There are two locations: Teatralna Square, where carols are performed, and Nezalezhnist embankment, where wine, food and souvenirs are sold. The festival is described as "caroling and gastronomic". Today, guests from Poland, Slovakia and Romania offered their wines for tasting. The Uzhgorod City Council informs that, in addition to the Transcarpathian wine makers, wine makers from Hungary, Germany and Macedonia will also present their products. Producers of meat and dairy products and beekeepers also take part in the festival… Souvenirs are sold by traders from Lviv region, Ternopil region, Bukovina, Prykarpattya, Rivne region.
Tomorrow, January 13, at 10.00, caroling groups from all over the region will take part in the festival. About 15 vocal ensembles, choirs from all districts of Transcarpathia – participants of the festival "Carols in the Old Village", which will take place on that day – will be performing on Teatralna Square and then march to the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, where they will present their art. On Saturday evening, at 19.00, the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir will perform on the stage on Teatralna Square with the program "On the Old New Year’s Eve".
The holiday will last until Sunday.
