On July 7, in the Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, there was the opening of the exhibition of a member of the Association of professional artists of Transcarpathia, honored artist of Ukraine Vasyl Popovych on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the artist.
Vasyl Popovych was born in the village of Velyky Komiaty, studied at the Uzhgorod school of arts and crafts. He began active exhibition activity in 1980, since then he has also been participating in plein airs both in and outside Ukraine. The geography of the artist’s admirers, who keep his works in private collections, is just as wide.
Regarding the new exhibition, it is the seventh solo exhibition for the author. It features more than fifty selected works created over the past 5 years. It is significantly dominated by vast, magnificent landscapes that allow the viewer to travel to different parts of the region, and in different seasons, which once again convinces: Transcarpathian nature is created for artists.
In addition to odes to Transcarpathian landscapes, the painter presented cityscapes, portraits, still lifes.
The exhibition will run until July 20.
