At the meeting on budget matters with heads of district state administrations, chairmen of district councils and executive committees of cities of regional subordination, Vasyl Hubal once again reminded local authorities that holding noisy New Year and Christmas celebrations with fireworks would be inappropriate in view of the situation in the state.
The head of the RSA asked managers to find a way to celebrate the holiday modestly and even cited examples where employees decide, instead of spending money for corporate parties, give it to volunteers to purchase a thermal imager for our military.
"Of course, everyone can decide how to celebrate New Year’s Eve for themselves. But there is the war in the country, and we should respect our defenders who risk their lives for Ukraine, and feelings of their families and those who are at home on leave. It is unlikely that they will be pleased to hear volleys of fireworks. And instead of unnecessary spending, in my personal opinion, it is better to help the front – with gratitude for giving us chance to celebrate in comfort of a home. So I ask Transcarpathians to be understanding and to unite for our common victory," – Vasyl Hubal said.
