Vashchuk will take students from all commercial universities in the region and promised not to brandish a sword

As was already reported by uzhgorod.in, today, September 7, the appointment of a new interim Rector of UzhNU took place. At 12:00 at the Faculty of Economics of the University a meeting of managerial staff of UzhNU was convened to introduce the new head of the institution. 

O.Ledyda came to the meeting accompanied by Vitaly Nikolaychuk, Fedir Vashchuk and Victor Pogorelov. Without preamble the governor read Order of the Minister of Education on resign of Nikolaychuk and the Order number 0609301-K about the appointment of Vashchuk as Acting Rector of UzhNU as of September 7, 2012.

Nikolaychuk instead should be the first provost. 

"Thanks to the leader of our country, the Minister of Education and the head of the Regional State Administration who entrusted me this position in such challenging time for UzhNU. First of all, I want to outline a few points – said Fedir Vashchuk. – First: UzhNU brand is sustainable, secure and will not be changed during my duties as rector. This is my alma mater and I respect it and not going to change it. 

Second, the economic situation of the university is difficult. We must stop blaming everything on predecessors who allegedly brought it to this state. The competition between the two universities was good. 

I promise that I will not brandish a sword and that nobody’s head will fly. On each issue of university life I will consult with those who are concerned about such issues. First of all, with the deans of faculties, heads of departments, professors. The first task is filling the budget of the university. On Monday there will be issued the order and made announcement in the media that UzhNU is allowed to admit in the middle of the year all the students of commercial educational establishments with preservation of the payment that was in their previous place of study. Thus, most of the educational establishments, which are not registered in Transcarpathia, will disappear.If it succeeds, by the new heating season we will get about 5 million UAH. There will be a moratorium on discharging of students for underachievement. Let them study as long as they are paying money.
