Vacation: sea, mountains, or city? (POLL)

23% of Ukrainians this summer are going to spend their summer vacation at home, and almost 41% are not taking summer vacation. This is illustrated by TSN.ua survey conducted at the beginning of the season.

Ukrainians like to spend vacation in the country or in rural areas (9.85%). Only 7 percent of Ukrainians intend to go abroad. Slightly more people in Ukraine, namely 8.86%, want to rest in the Crimea or the Carpathians.

When planning a vacation, Ukrainians choose holidays abroad because of better conditions and love to travel. 32% of those prefer to travel to Europe and Asia.  Traditional leaders of overseas holiday for Ukrainians are Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Montenegro. Last year, the most visited by Ukrainian tourists countries, according to the State Border Service, were Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Poland, Romania, United Arab Emirates, Greece, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic. These data were obtained from a study conducted by the International human portal – the UNN reported.

According to Uzhgorod tour operators, Croatia for several years has been leading among the countries that Transcarpathians choose to go to rest to. Bulgaria is on the second place.   

At the same time, it has become very popular to plan vacation independently – it allows to see more and significantly reduce the cost of visiting interesting sites in Europe. Our author – traveler Ani Nikohosyan – has told what should be taken into account when doing it.

In general, due to proximity to the border, Uzhgorod residents, when planning vacation, are not too inclined to traditional routes. At least, those interviewed by uzhgorod.in, choose interesting options, travel the world without travel agencies, or even find ways to relax without running away in vacation.
