It takes around 15 minutes to drive from Uzhgorod to the dam in the village of Nevytske – a favorite vacation spot of Transcarpathians. There is a considerable space under the mountain where you can pitch a tent, mountain Uzh is not steep and quite deep, nature impresses by its beauty. Therefore Uzhgorod dwellers prefer to spend their weekends here. Recently, due to the large number of tourists MOE even restored a temporary rescue station there.
Garbage dumps are present there, although nobody cleans them. The garbage falls out of the boxes, and the wind carries it all over the territory. Hundreds of people who leave a considerable mess have a rest every weekend there.
MOE officers said that you can find a lot of snakes in the river when it is hot however, most of snakes are safe. One another problem of recreation area is a small number of toilets. There is only one toilet for hundred of peoples, which looks terrible.
However, the views of holidaymakers about recreational areas are very different. ‘I do not really like here. But on the other hand, this place is not far from the city, here is beautiful nature and it is easy to get there, however the lack of toilets and piles of rubbish upset me – said Kateryna from Uzhgorod. – I think it is better to go somewhere in mountains.’
‘I like this place very much. The main thing is we have a place where to rest. You can play volleyball and make barbecue here. It is a good place to spend the weekend – said Roman, vacationer from Uzhgorod.
A kind of construction that makes this place even less attractive is carried out not far from the recreation zone.
