UzhNU Summer University for senior pupils has opened in Uzhgorod

According to the information department of Uzhgorod City Council, several dozen senior students of the city will have a three-week study at the UzhNU Summer University. Today, May 29, they launched the project that introduces students to the specialties that can be obtained in Uzhgorod and available opportunities in the largest and oldest university in Transcarpathia. The vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of UzhNU Miroslava Lendyel at the opening of the Summer University said that this idea is one of the projects under the cooperation with Uzhgorod City Council, which signed the Memorandum on Partnership in October last year. Such models exist in neighboring Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The Deputy Head of the Education Department of Uzhgorod City Council Natalia Mukhamedianova noted that mostly 10-graders would be attending the Summer University; this is the opportunity for them to weigh everything before choosing a further path in life. Every day children will learn about the possibilities provided by different faculties of UzhNU, take part in interactive games, round tables, trainings, discussions, master classes. Many excursions are planned – to the archaeological museum and museum of history of UzhNU, later, in addition to other museums, they will visit Mukachevo, Nevytsky, Chynadiyevo castles, tourist complex Voyevodino, the botanical garden, sanatorium "Karpaty". The finish of the Summer University will be held on the territory of the scenic complex "Skalka" – with a bograch-fest, sports and entertainment contests.
