The Ministry of Education together with the company "Clarivate Analytics" (former research and science subdivision of the "Thomson Reuters") and the National Academy of Sciences, on the eve of Saint Nicholas Day, presented awards "Leader of Sciences of Ukraine 2016. Web of Science award" to the most influential scientists and scientific journals of Ukraine.
Seven universities from all over Ukraine, including Uzhgorod National University, received the prestigious award.
Uzhgorod university was awarded in the category "Commercialization of Science", namely "For scientific cooperation with the real sector of the economy."
The Rector of UzhNU Professor Volodymyr Smolanka received the high distinction from the director of Clarivate Analytics on business development in the public sector Malgorzata Krasovska.
"This award is the evidence that our university not only cares about training highly qualified specialists for the national economy, but also works productively towards the practical implementation of our own original researches. I am pleased to say that our scientists and talented students work here, and this award is a good incentive for further development of scientific activities, which have a practical application," – V.Smolanka said.
