Uzhgorod Deputy Mayor Ihor Fartushok greeted the participants and stressed that young people are the driving force of all changes, adding that communication between officials and young Uzhgorod residents about environmental ideas and the state of the environment is extremely important for both parties of the discussions.
In total, more than two dozen students registered. Then, the initiator of the project Iryna Shchoka addressed the participants, encouraging young people to get together and communicate, as well as share experiences.
Also today in the second part of the program, there will be a discussion with city officials "Communicate and act", which aims to discuss the environmental situation and active youth recreation in Uzhgorod, the participants will present to the city officials eco-manifesto prepared on the basis of observations and discussions.
According to the website of the city of Uzhgorod, the festival has thematic locations: "Respect nature", "Prepare for travel", "Appreciate trees" (in English), "Sustainable hospitality: consuming local products", etc., environmental activists, in particular representatives of the NGO "Green varosh", will speak. The festival will last until 16.00.
