Energy independence in the cities of Ukraine is growing: in late May, the all-Ukrainian tour "Energy independence is our common cause" will visit Uzhgorod.
How to save energy at home, to gain energy independence for your house, how to "make" the sun work for you and make the cities greener – these and other interesting topics will be covered by activists and leading experts of nature protection organizations on May 31.
Throughout the day, on Teatralna Square, the activists will:
– deploy an informative exhibition where everybody will be able to get useful tips on housing insulation, learn about new mechanisms for financing of energy efficiency activities (energy service contracts, revolving funds);
– demonstrate the work of solar panels and water heaters, as well as bike generator that can charge a smartphone, and will treat to a coffee brewed by sunlight; – hold a thematic photo shoot;
– provide free rental bikes, tell how to maintain them; – meet with local government officials and journalists to discuss how to make Uzhgorod energy independent, safe and comfortable;
– collect signatures for a petition to the government with a request to allocate more funds for energy efficiency activities. You will learn which direction Ukrainians must move to achieve energy independence, and what each of us can do for it at the level of apartment, houses, city and state today.
