Uzhgorod writer received a prestigious literary prize

Andriy Lyubka is this year’s winner of the Yuriy Shevelyov Prize.

The awarding ceremony took place yesterday, December 23. Andriy Lyubka received the prize for this year’s book "Saudade", which consists of more than 60 short stories about personal life, travels, music.

The Yuriy Shevelyov Prize is an award for artistic and scientific Ukrainian essayistics, published during the past year. It was launched in 2013 by the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, the Dukh and Letter Publishing House, the Ukrainian Center for International PEN-Club and the Ukrainian Research Institute of Harvard University. The prize is named after Yuriy Shevelyov, who launched the modern Ukrainian essayistics.

Since its foundation, Taras Prokhasko, Andriy Portnov, Kost’ Moskalets, Oleksandr Boychenko and Vakhtang Kebuladze have been the laureates of the prize.
