Uzhgorod student created a series of DIY-robots and launched a campaign on Kickstarter

13-year-old Mark Drobnich developed a series of robots called ELFi robots, and wants to make their creation available to everyone.To this end, the boy launched a campaign on Kickstarter: to achieve the goal, he needs to raise 33,000 pounds. Now, he is presenting his idea in the final of the World Robot Olympiad in the capital of Qatar. 

In the summer of 2014, Mark reached the finals of the Google Science Fair, the prestigious science competition for young people. His project titled "School presentation microscope with remote control", was among the 15 finalists selected by the Google jury during the competition. Mark studies in the chemical and biological form of Uzhgorod gymnasium, and has been interested in science and design solutions since childhood.

The boy made the microscope for the Google Science Fair on his own using LEGO parts. The same concept underlies ELFi Robotics: people will receive a set of tools and software, using which they can assemble a toy robot. Robots made with ELFi Robotics can communicate with people in English – support for other languages, according to Mark, is coming soon.
