Uzhgorod smells like the 90s (PHOTOS)

An anniversary exhibition "Painting & Autumn" by the famous painter, restorer and teacher Pavlo Kovacs recently opened in the "Uzhgorod" gallery.

Guests had an opportunity to remember the 90s, a video of the installation by P.Kovacs made and filmed 20 years ago was screened in the room. As for the paintings, there were a few dozen of them.

With his new, still smelling of fresh paint, exhibition, the hero of the day wanted to remind himself and others that there are only three primary colors, and all the rest are derivatives.

"I taught students this, and now I recalled those colors myself. A contemporary artist has a large number of them on display. And I, while preparing the exhibition, was interested in painting itself. Typically, when autumn comes, our artists paint bright colorful landscapes. Those almost always are the mountains, trees, rivers, etc. I have set the task for myself – to see whether the painting, without landscape, can find some form of expression, using colors. I went back into the past.  Over 55 years, I have become "permeated with the smell" of this season and I certainly have something to say", – the artist commented the exhibition.

A little bit of atmosphere in the photos.
