Uzhgorod residents should think of wells and pumps – water delivery schedules may be limited

The reason is inability of the water utility to pay for actually consumed electricity and significant debt for electricity.

This decision today was unanimously supported by the city executive committee. The Zakarpatoblelektroenerho requires to restrict the amounts of electricity consumed to such that the water utility could actually pay for.

According to the water utility, the latter can not pay for services for several reasons. One of them is a constant increase of electricity cost, which means a monthly increase of spending by 400,000 UAH. In addition, recently, only 60 percent of the population have been regularly paying for services.

In view of all this, the water utility was allowed to restrict the delivery of water to townspeople.

However, it is currently not known how it will be implemented in practice and how it will affect the schedule of water supply in Uzhgorod.
The water utility representative said that water supply restriction would be applied in extreme cases.
