Uzhgorod residents are outraged by violations of safety regulations at construction sites (PHOTOS)

Uzhgorod resident Nastya Bachynskaya posted on Facebook quite reasonable questions to Uzhgorod city government about the safety at construction sites.

"Fellow Uzhgorod residents. It seems that the incident with Anita did not teach our city government any lessons about safety regulations. For some reason, they consider it normal and legal for TWO cranes to be operated during the day on Teatralna square (Tuesday, March 21) with crowd of tourists, families with children. Danger zone is not fenced, there are no warning signs.

The sidewalk near the Chervena Ruzha is completely blocked, the road is blocked by scaffolding on one side, a truck with rebar – on the other side. Can not be passed. On the opposite side, construction works are performed very close to another building without complying with fire safety regulations and the construction site extends into pedestrian zone and roadway. On Saturday (March 18), on Braschayky street, a crane was lifting improperly secured wooden beams to the attic of a three-storey apartment building.

Is everybody OK with that? Where are the police, prosecutors, State Emergencies Service? What are the authorities for?"
