On December 5, at 5 pm, in the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library (Svoboda Ave., 16), there will be a screening of the film "Ex Libris: The New York Public Library" within the framework of the XV Traveling International Documentary Film Festival on Human Rights. Special guest of the event is ANDRIY LYUBKA.
Frederick Wiseman’s film "Ex Libris: The New York Public Library" takes a glimpse behind the scenes of one of the greatest repositories of knowledge in the world and shows the audience a place of hospitality, cultural exchange and education. The Library, with its 92 branches throughout Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island, sees its mission as being a resource for all the inhabitants of this multi-faceted and cosmopolitan city. The New York Public Library is a manifestation of the deep-rooted American belief in everyone’s right to know and to be informed. This is one of the most democratic institutions in America – the library welcomes everyone. The Library seeks to inspire people to learn, to develop knowledge and to strengthen communities.
The event will be moderated by Yevhenia Napuda.
Admission is free!
