Uzhgorod residents are complaining about another “architectural murder”. The city authorities say that they did not permit it

Another special object of historical city architecture on Tolstoy street is being destroyed!

Vasyl Prokopyshyn reported about a new fact of architectural barbarism in the popular community "Uzhgorod" on Facebook. 

Judging by the photos, the new balcony double-glazed windows and doors were cut right into the refined lines of the old house breaking all the logical and visual rules.

"Another old house at Tolstoy st. 7a is being destroyed. Couldn’t they have done without a door?…", – the man complains.

Uzhgorod City Council commented it as follows: 

"As to the facade of the building at Tolstoy st,, 7a in Uzhgorod, the information about which was posted today in this group.

The Department of Architecture and Urban Development of Uzhgorod City Council reported that the owner had not submitted documents for reconstruction or other works, the work was carried out without permit.

Employees of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control (SACC) of the City Council have twice informed the owner about the unacceptibility of such actions, he was brought to administrative responsibility, an order to suspend unlawful works was drawn up, which he ignored.

Further measures are being taken. The issue is under control of the SACC Department", – the City Council informed.
