Uzhgorod rescuers received aid from the city authorities

On August 22, the mayor of Uzhgorod, Bohdan Andriyiv, handed over to the rescuers of the 14th state fire and rescue unit the equipment for vehicles worth 30 thousand hryvnias. Spare parts for fire trucks and rechargeable batteries were purchased at the expense of the local budget and financed under the "Program of logistics support for military units and improvement of civil protection of the population for 2017-2018". The solemn event took place on the territory of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Detachment of the city of Uzhgorod.

Roman Hudak, the Head of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, thanked the city mayor for the support to the rescuers of Uzhgorod, and expressed his hope that the city executive committee would continue to contribute to the improvement of the city’s fire and rescue units.

At the end of the event, for the diligent performance of official duties and courage during the elimination of fires and emergencies, as well as on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, the mayor of the city awarded the best rescuers with diplomas.
