In the hall of Uzhgorod post office, there was the ceremonial first day cancellation of the stamp depicting Uzhgorod railway station. Also, another unit was presented – a postcard with a picture of the same station (photo by Oleg Zhavriy), an envelope with the inscription "Transcarpathian region," which depicts a wooden sculpture on the Synevyr lake, and a large envelope dedicated to our region with images of the St. Michael Church in Svalyava, Shypit waterfall and Palanok castle in Mukachevo.
Stamps and envelopes were cancelled with the so-called first day stamp by the Acting Director General of the Transcarpathian Directorate of "Ukrposhta" Victor Voitko, Advisor to the Director General of "Ukrposhta" Anatoly Kydysyuk and philatelist Mykola Dudnik. The same event, by the way, took place on this day in Kyiv, but using the Kyiv stamp.
After the solemn event, philatelists started cancelling letters with stamps and sending them to colleagues in other regions.
