Prosecution of Uzhgorod carries ours procedural control in criminal proceedings in respect of bodily injury inflicted to the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod
Currently, investigation measures are being conducted aimed at establishing the factual circumstances of the said crime and the identity of the person who committed it
Preliminary, the investigation division of Uzhgorod city police registered this incident in the URPI and initiated preliminary inquiry on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional infliction of minor bodily injury).
However, after additional evidence-based information, the prosecutors instructed the police investigation to change the qualification of the crime to the attempted grievous bodily harm (Art. 15 and Part 1 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, they are taking additional measures to establish all the circumstances of the crime, questioning a wide range of people.
Given the current position of the victim and his political and social activities, the prosecution does not preclude the possibility, if there is sufficient reason, to change the legal qualification to the attempted murder (Art. 15 and Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
