Yesterday, October 26, at the polling station number 210725, as the OPORA already reported, a man was noticed carrying a list with the names of people. Some of the voters after having voted would come up and say something to him. The man was invited to the city police department to clarify the situation.
According to the Public Relations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office in Transcarpathian region, the observer was a 58-year-old Uzhgorod resident. Voluntarily and in the presence of witnesses, he gave four A4 size pages with the personal data of citizens, their home addresses and phone numbers.
The man told police officers that those were lists of people he had encouraged to vote for the candidate for deputies, whom he represents. As the OPORA previously reported, the man was an official observer from the candidate Vasyl Kovacs, who has been a member of the parliament from this constituency since 2012.
The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, Colonel Serhiy Sharanych reported that criminal proceedings was initiated over this fact under Part 2 of Art.160 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Bribery of voters).
