Uzhgorod police caught a thief in the pharmacy “red-handed”

Investigative team of Uzhgorod Police Department in cooperation with the patrol police caught an unknown man, who had broken into a pharmacy in Uzhgorod.

Yesterday, at 6:00 am, a resident of Dendeshi Street in Uzhgorod reported to the police that he had heard the sound of breaking glass and seen someone entering the pharmacy on this street.

Patrol police promptly arrived at the scene and guarded the facility until the arrival of the investigative team. After that, policemen began inspecting the premises of the pharmacy and noticed a shadow in one of the dark corners. The man, who had broken into the pharmacy, was caught, they found on him the drugs that he had stolen from the shelves.

The detainee was a 28-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, who in 2014 was realeased from prison where he had spent 5.5 years for selling drugs.

The circumstances of the case are being established.
