Uzhgorod police arrested an 18-year-old offender, who had robbed a pensioner on the street

On Shishkin street in the city of Uzhgorod, an unknown man openly stole from a 78-year-old woman a bag with personal belongings. The police quickly detained the robber, the material evidence was seized. The investigation was initiated.

Around 11.20 am, the police received a report about the robbery of an elderly woman. The applicant reported that a young man had approached her and snatched a bag with a wallet and house keys from her hands.

Officers of the Uzhgorod Police Department responded promptly to the pensioner’s report. A few hours later, the young man involved in the robbery was detained. It turned out to be an 18-year-old local resident. The suspect has been previously brought to criminal responsibility for property crimes.

The police began an investigation over the incident under Part 1 of Art.186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The evidence – stolen wallet and keys – was seized. The case is under investigation.
