Uzhgorod police are checking into a probable attempt to bribe voters

Law enforcers are checking the report of preparations for the election fraud in Transcarpathia

A representative of one of the candidates for the President of Ukraine appealed to Uzhgorod police. According to the applicant, he received information that two Uzhgorod residents received calls from unknown persons who offered a monetary reward for giving their vote during the election of the President of Ukraine for one of the candidates. The persons introduced themselves as the staffers of the electoral headquarters. The applicant noted that these telephone calls and unlawful offers of the unknown persons were provocative.  

As of today, employees of the Uzhgorod Police Department are checking the facts stated in this report. In case the fact is confirmed, the incident will be urgently registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, voter bribing. 

The police of Transcarpathia remain out of politics. Law enforcers will make every effort to prevent any manipulations and ensure a transparent process of the presidential election. 

At the same time, we urge citizens to immediately report on the known facts about violations of the electoral legislation.
