Uzhgorod places of interest: Castle Stairs – “stairs for kisses” (VIDEO)

This is where the city and its first 10 streets began. This is stated in the description of 1691. ⠀
Once it was a path that turned into a staircase. They connect two streets – Pidhradska and Kapitulna. ⠀
The people who served the inhabitants of Uzhgorod Castle lived downstairs. ⠀
The Castle Stairs were built in the late 18th – early 19th century. ⠀
96 steps are popularly called "the kissing stairs".⠀
The stairs afford the magnificent view of Uzhgorod. Today, guests from all over the world pass this route.
