Uzhgorod official was found guilty by court

The prosecutor of the Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office proved the guilt of the director of the Department of Municipal Economy of the Uzhgorod City Council in failing to comply with the official demands of a local council deputy (Part 1 of Article 351 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Thus, the prosecutor proved that the defendant, in spite of his official duties, unreasonably refused to provide the requested information, alleging that there was no causal link between the interests of the voters, the deputy activity of the applicant and the requested information.
By the verdict of the Uzhgorod City Court, the defendant was found guilty as charged and sentenced to a fine of UAH 3,400.
The Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office will challenge the court’s sentence in view of the leniency of the sentence, since during the court hearing the prosecutor asked to impose a fine in amount of 900 non-taxable minimum incomes, which is 15,300 UAH.
At present the verdict has not come into force, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Transcarpathian region informs.
