On the eve of St. Nicholas, the first deputy chairman of the regional council Yosyp Borto took part in the solemn transfer of a musical instrument to Uzhgorod Musical College in Uzhgorod.
From now on, the new concert grand piano "Kawai" which costs almost 40 thousand dollars will be serving the musicians of the educational institution.
Among the distinguished guests, who organized the purchase and delivery of the valuable musical gift, there were the minister’s commissioner in charge of the development of cooperation between Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region and Transcarpathian region, as well as the coordination of the program for the development of children’s educational institutions of the Carpathian Basin István Greja, representative of the State Secretariat for Culture of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary Dr. Fulop Peter, the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Jozsef Buhajla, as well as representatives of diplomatic institutions and the chairman of the Hungarian Charitable Foundation "Together for All of Us" Borseki-Molnar Dolmo.
In his welcoming speech, István Greja stressed that the piano presented to the Ukrainian music college by the Hungarian Government was a "piano of friendship" between the two neighboring states. Hungary will continue to support social projects and talented youth of Transcarpathia.
In turn, the director of the college Svitlana Stegney thanked for the valuable gift and noted that quality instruments help to develop talented musicians. He emphasized that Transcarpathian region is multinational, known not only for the unique natural resources, but also for a high spiritual and artistic culture and special tolerance.
At the end, the best virtuoso pianists demonstrated the guests a well-prepared concert program of classical works.
