The campaign "Victory is in our blood" timed to the World Donor Day took place today in Uzhgorod on the initiative of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The goal is to form voluntary blood donation culture, to promote the importance of donation. The campaign started on June 12 and covered various cities.
According to Ivanna Sabo, the head of the Transcarpathian branch of the Red Cross, athletes are the key participants in this campaign because they are a model of physical activity, have good health and by their example should inspire all Ukrainians to join the good cause.
Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv donated blood again today, thanked the organizers for the initiative and the athletes who set an example for others, and called on Uzhgorod residents to come and save the lives of those who need it.
Representatives of various federations, famous sportsmen took part in the campaign.
