Uzhgorod celebrity – a noble sports horse named Daimyo – got another victory at a prestigious competition. The horse and the rider fell just one point short of gold medal!
Nadia Popadiuk, owner of Daimyo, says:
– The 2017 Equestrian Championship of Ukraine, which took place in Zhashkiv, Cherkasy Region, from 14th to 16th of July, was successful for the English thoroughbred horse from Uzhgorod – Daimyo and his rider and coach, master of sports – Yuriy Dulya.
They won the second place and became silver medalists of this year’s Championship (in 2016 they took the third place). Horse trial is one of the three disciplines of classical equestrian sport represented at the Olympic Games.
The championship is a nationwide competition attended by horses and riders from all regions of Ukraine, where equestrian sport is developing.
Nadia also added: "Daimyo in Japanese means "great name". This is how wealthy feudal lords of medieval Japan were called. The class of samurai was the elite of the Japanese society of the X-XIX centuries, and daimyo were an elite among the samurai. In addition, the ancestors of the horse Daimyo were world champions in horse racing in the 20th century.
Representatives of his breed are the fastest horses in the world, their hearts are twice as large as that of usual horses. So, Daimyo was born and named to be the champion, he is the winner of the national Derby, and there is only one step left to the gold medal at the Equestrian Championship of Ukraine!".
So, we wish Daimyo new victories! By the way, the horse is a real star! He has his own page on facebook and even "conducted" a charity auction of drawings about horses "Good Things" to help the children.
