Uzhgorod fountains… are being repaired (PHOTOS)

Uzhgorod fountains need repair. In the regional center of Transcarpathia, there are about ten fountains, 4 of them are in the responsibility of the city council. However, despite the summer, some fountains are still in disrepair and not working. The Department of Municipal Economy agrees with the need for repair. They began to fix up the one on Poshtova Square. Then, they will proceed to the one located in the park at the intersection of three streets: Dovzhenko, Krylov and Rakoczy.   Last time, it was repaired several years ago. Now the fountain is abandoned.

In addition, there are 2 more fountain on the balance of the city budget – in the rock garden, which was repaired this year, and on Hoyda Street. Fountains are repaired when necessary, the Head of the Department of Municipal Economy of Uzhgorod city council Oleksandr Kostenchuk claims.  50,000 UAH is allocate for repair. There are some more fountains in Uzhgorod.  But, the city council is not responsible for them. One of them is behind the building of the Transcarpathian Regional Music and Drama Theater, another one – on Narodna Sq. The first one is private property, the work on the second one – on Narodna Square – was suspended. However, there is hope, albeit small, that they will be repaired too.
