Uzhgorod dweller ask to install speed breaker in Novyi Rayon, but the City Council ignores them (PHOTOS)

For several years already the residents of Chornovola Street in Novyi Rayon are suffering from the dominance of various vehicles passing by their street. This route was chosen by the drivers ever since the roads on Zankovetska and Chornovola Streets were repaired.

Now along this road rush passenger cars, trucks, tractors and empty city buses, who are willing to shorten a little bit their way to the final stop choose this route instead of Legotskogo Street.    

This street is not adapted to the intensive car traffic and it is quite narrow. In addition, the road passes by kindergarten ‘Lastovichka’.

According to Uzhgorod City Council deputy from this district and the head of ‘Lastovichka’ Vira Zhmenyak, residents of the street repeatedly turn to her with a request to somehow help in reduction of traffic flow in that direction, or at least force drivers not to rush along the crowded street. They also proposed to establish the so-called ‘speed breakers’ in order to prohibit the large transport movement or to make it one-way street.

Meanwhile, parents and other residents of houses on Chornovola Street do not want to tolerate this situation. Vira Semenivna assumes that people may eventually block the road and hold protest action.
