Uzhgorod district police found a thief who had robbed the house of his pensioner relative

In Uzhgorod district, patrol police response team quickly identified a thief who had robbed his relative. The stolen items were seized, the police have opened criminal proceeding over the theft.

A 74-year-old resident of the village of Patskanovo reported a theft to the police of Uzhgorod district. The pensioner said that unknown persons had broken the doors in his house and stolen from there a digital camera, a pressure measuring device, a watch and other household items.

Officers of the patrol police response team of the Uzhgorod District Office promptly identified the person suspected of theft.

It was a 21-year-old relative of the applicant, a resident of the city of Uzhgorod. Police officers found the stolen property in the suspect’s house.

The investigator opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Part 3 0f Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, theft coupled with breaking and entering, which caused significant damage to the victim. The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
