Uzhgorod deputies supported the provision of material support to the Chop border guard detachment

At the session of Uzhgorod City Council, which is taking place today, deputies of Uzhgorod City Council have supported the Program for the provision of material assistance to the Chop border guard detachment for 2019-2020. The program provides for increase of the capacity and improvement of the working conditions at the departments of the Border Guard Service on the Ukrainian-Slovak and Ukrainian-Hungarian state borders in the area of responsibility of the Chop border guard detachment. The total amount of financing is 400 thousand hryvnias.
The main objective of the document is to develop and improve the existing infrastructure of the Border Guard Service departments and border crossing points, to provide modern equipment, to improve the interaction with the border agencies of the neighbouring countries, to increase throughput of persons, vehicles and goods at border crossing points, to ensure effective counteraction to illegal migration and smuggling of tobacco products and other goods across the state border of Ukraine.
