The length of the entire gas network of Transcarpathia (with the Hust gas-main) is more than 1240 km of high pressure gas pipelines, most of which are laid through the remote mountains.
"We also have four gas-compressor stations – "Uzhgorod", "Rososh", "Hust", "Volovets" with total capacity of nearly 500 megawatts.
One of Europe’s largest gas metering stations "Uzhgorod" is a strategic bridge between the gas network of Ukraine and that of Western Europe, and the lion’s share of transit along the "Russia-Ukraine-Europe" corridor passes through it – said to the "News of Transcarpathia" newspaper head of the Transcarpathian line production administration of gas transmittal pipelines Fedir Lukita. – Today the design capacity of the plant is more than 100 billion cubic meters per year.
In Ukraine there is no other place where such four transit and export pipelines as "Dolyna-Uzhgorod-Gosgranitsa-2", "Soyuz", "Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhgorod" and "Progress" gas pipeline would converge. It is here that about 80% of the total export gas to Europe is controlled."
