To approve the list of jurors, Uzhgorod City and District Court appealed to the local government with a request to form and approve the list of citizens who meet the requirements of Article 65 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Judicial System and Status of Judges" and agree to be jurors.
The requirements for a juror
1. A juror must be a citizen of Ukraine who has reached thirty years of age and is a resident in the territory under the jurisdiction of the respective district court, unless otherwise provided by law.
2. The following categories of citizens shall not be included to the lists of jurors:
1) recognized partially capable or incapable by court;
2) having chronic mental or other diseases that interfere with performance of juror’s duties;
3) having unwithdrawn or outstanding criminal record;
4) deputies of Ukraine, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, judges, prosecutors, officers of law enforcement authorities, the military, court staff, other government officials, officials of local governments, lawyers, notaries, members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, High Council of justice;
5) persons on whom, within the past twelve months, an administrative penalty was imposed for committing corruption offenses;
6) citizens over sixty-five;
7) persons who do not speak the national language.
3. A person included to the list of jurors shall inform the court about the circumstances that make it impossible for him or her to participate in the administration of justice, if any.
