Uzhgorod schoolchildren will not have autumn holidays. The information in special comments for the Mukachevo.net was confirmed by the deputy head of education department of Uzhgorod City Council Marina Pukivska.
The expert stressed that the decision was taken by parents and teachers.
– In accordance with Article 16 of the Law of Ukraine "On Secondary Education", each institution determines its own structure. Therefore, in consultation with teaching staff and parents, it was decided to join autumn holidays to winter holidays.And spring holidays will remain unchanged – the educator explained.
Thus, the first academic semester for Uzhgorod students will end on December 18.
– Everyone has their own reasons, but probably because we live a multinational city, finishing the semester on December 18, students will be able to celebrate St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, and New Year at home with parents – Marina Pukivska said.
