Uzhgorod chestnuts try to survive and appeal to people for help (PHOTOFACT)

We have already raised the topic of Uzhgorod chestnuts, some of which unexpectedly began to blossom in September. We also posted photos with flowers on the trees. Now, we would like to take a look at this topic from a slightly different perspective.

The sight of sick trees with almost no leaves left is particularly striking. It looks like, in spite of everything, chestnuts are struggling, they do not want to die: new green shoots and flowers persistently appear on black dried branches.

They are struggling on their own and quietly asking people to help. One cannot understand why this problem with chestnuts, which has been going on for more than a year, has not been resolved. Neither the criticized trimming, nor the joint project of twin cities Uzhgorod and Korvallis protected Uzhgorod chestnuts from pests… 

And now, we walk along the city’s alleys and are appalled by the sad look of these wonderful trees, which are struggling to resist the "rusty" disease, growing healthy shoots with flowers on black branches.
