Uzhgorod became yellow and blue!

Uzhgorod activists decided to paint the sign at the entrance to the regional center of Transcarpathia in the colors of the national flag.

They say it’s a great way to spend a day off with benefit and enjoyment. It just takes a couple of cans of paint, paint rollers, ladders and a will. The idea came spontaneously.

Tomash Lelekach, social activist and initiator of the original work day said, "While driving here with colleagues, we took notice of the flag – it needs to be replaced – and then of the sign too, and decided to repaint it in patriotic colors so that all could see that Uzhgorod is a Ukrainian city. Moreover, this is Kyiv-Chop highway, many people drive here on their way to the border, and there are many who take pictures".

The next in plans – in the near future – is the lower part of the stele. Here, the design is more intricate: they want to recreate the embroidery pattern, and devote to embellishment and repainting at least one more day off.

Of course, they plan to replace the flag too – it will be bigger and better. And another flag will appear on the second flag-post – either of Uzhgorod, or even of the European Union.

Then they plan to fix up flower beds.
