Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture began working on the production of gift cards. It is performed for the funds from the mini-grant competition within the seminar program "Presentation products and promotion of the museum" as part of the project "ProMuseum: development of the resource base and upgrade of the museum industry" implemented by the NGO "Ukrainian Center for Museum Development" supported by the International Foundation "Renaissance" and the ICF "Ukraine 3000", the site of the project informs.
It is about souvenir postcards "Traditional folk costumes and embroidery of Transcarpathia". The feature of the card is that on the front of it, there will be a picture, and on the back – a pattern of authentic Transcarpathian embroidery!
"The main characters" of the photoshoot were 3rd and 4th year students of the history faculty of Uzhgorod National University.
For the re-enactment and photography, they selected 16 sets (ie 32 authentic costumes), representing all administrative districts of the region and all ethnic groups of Transcarpathian Ukrainians, as well as traditional clothing of Hungarians and Romanians living in the region.
The resulting photos were processed, the best of them were selected and handed over to the publisher to create a layout. Currently, they are photographing embroideries and developing patterns that will be featured on the back of the cards.
